Minister’s Letter (December 2021)

Dear friends,
We’re well into Advent now; the recent cold snap and the snow today tells us that winter is definitely with us! I hope and trust that this message finds you healthy, joyful and faithful.
Our Christmas services timetable looks like this:Sun 19th Dec 11am  Children’s Nativity serviceSun 19th Dec 6pm   Lessons and Carols service
Christmas Day 11am Family serviceSunday 26th Dec 11am Infant Dedication serviceOnline, we have our usual service each Sunday and in addition a special Watchnight service in the evening of the 24th – at a time to be arranged.
We have a regular online Bible Study on a Tuesday evening; also a “live” Ladies’ Fellowship after the Sunday service, usually the last one in the month; an online Prayer Chain group – and don’t forget the daily Thoughts for the Day on the church Facebook page or WhatsApp. If you’d like any details about these, please contact me – the church website has a contact form for me:http://www.churchofscotland.be/
A couple of people were asking about our OLM/Readership candidates: two of them have started their online studies at the University of Aberdeen and the third plans to start in the New Year. David is doing a placement with the I.P.C. in Auderghem and Sia is with us in St Andrew’s and in the New Year will be at the Musee church (Chapelle Royale).
One of our members is looking for temporary accommodation for one adult and two young children – possibly just a largish room with access to kitchen and bathroom, or a separate apartment, preferably ground floor or with access to a lift. Please contact me if you – or anyone you know – can help.
We celebrated the sacrament of Holy Baptism for Julie (daughter of Jitka and Pawel) on 31st October and for Nila (daughter of Jessica and Rei) on 28th November.
May you and your families be very richly blessed this Christmas!
